Unit Trusts
What Are Unit Trusts?
A unit trust is essentially a collective investment. It is made up from a number of small investors whose individual investments make up a larger pool of money. This larger pool can then be invested more effectively in company shares by professional investment managers.
What Are Unit OEIC's?
An OEIC is an Open Ended Investment Company, essentially they are structured more simply than unit trusts with the main difference being that instead of buying units you buy shares at a single price.
OEIC's are more open-ended, with more shares being created as more investors come aboard. When investors leave and sell their shares back to the company the fund will get smaller if other investors don't buy these shares.
